Account Deletion Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-22

The short version. You can delete your SOMA account and data at any time — either in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us from your account email. We action verified requests within 30 days, revoke connected integrations like Oura, and confirm by email when it's done.

1. Overview

SOMA is provided by SOMA (“SOMA”, “we”, “us”) — [Registered company name and address — fill before launch]. This page explains exactly how to delete your SOMA account and the data tied to it, what we remove, what we’re sometimes required to keep, and how long it takes.

Deleting your account is permanent. If you only want to stop SOMA from reading a particular wearable — for example Apple Health or Oura — without losing your account and training history, see Section 7 instead.

2. How to delete your account

There are two ways to delete your account. Both result in the same outcome.

Option A — In the app

Open SOMA and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Confirm when prompted. This starts the deletion process for your account and the data we hold for it.

Option B — By email

Email hello@somaintelligence.app from the email address associated with your SOMA account and ask us to delete your account. We email from your account address so we can verify the request is really yours.

Either method fully deletes your account. Use the in-app option (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or email hello@somaintelligence.app from your account email. You do not need to do both.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we delete the data we hold for you on our servers, including:

  • Account & profile data — your account record and any profile details you provided, such as name and training preferences.
  • Training history — your workouts, sets, reps, loads, effort (RIR), programs, and the derived metrics SOMA built from them (volume, fatigue, training load, adaptation).
  • Wearable-derived data we hold — the recovery, readiness, sleep, and related values SOMA computed or stored from the wearable data you authorized.
  • Integration access tokens — tokens for connected services such as Oura are revoked, so SOMA stops accessing those services.

4. On-device data

SOMA processes your data on your device wherever possible, so some data lives on your phone rather than our servers. On-device data is removed when you delete the SOMA app from your device, or when you use the in-app Delete Account option described above. Deleting the app also stops SOMA from reading any new data from Apple Health on that device.

5. What we may retain, and why

After deletion we may keep a minimal amount of data, only where there’s a clear reason to:

  • Legal minimums — for example, a record that a deletion request was made and actioned, where we’re required to keep one to comply with the law.
  • Aggregated or de-identified data — data that can no longer be used to identify you. Because it isn’t personal data, it may be retained.

We do not keep your identifiable account, training, or wearable-derived data after deletion. We never sell personal data, and we never use your health or wearable data for advertising.

6. Timeframe

We action verified deletion requests promptly — within 30 days, and sooner where required by law. In-app deletions typically take effect right away for your on-device data, with server-side deletion completing within that window.

7. Disconnecting instead of deleting

If you want to keep your SOMA account and training history but stop SOMA from reading a wearable, disconnect it instead of deleting your account. Disconnecting stops new data from that source; it does not delete your account.

Apple Health

Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → SOMA and toggle off individual data types or all of them. SOMA immediately stops reading new HealthKit data.

Oura

In the app, go to SOMA → Settings → Integrations → Oura (Disconnect). This revokes SOMA’s access token so SOMA stops accessing your Oura data. You can also revoke access from your Oura account at cloud.ouraring.com (account → connections).

For more on what each connection shares, see our Data Usage & Privacy page and Oura Integration Disclosure.

8. Confirmation

When your deletion is complete, we confirm by email so you have a record that it’s done. If you requested deletion by email, we’ll reply to the same address; for in-app deletions, we send confirmation to your account email.

9. Questions & contact

If you have any questions about deleting your account or what happens to your data, email us at hello@somaintelligence.app. For the bigger picture on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
